Do you prefer coffee from a particular country or region? One of coffee’s endless fascinations is how coffee beans from different coffee-producing regions throughout the world have distinct characteristics that yield unique tastes and aromas when the beans are roasted.
Artist Emily Farish has illustrated four coffee origins in a series of small paintings that are available as art prints from Amazon.com or AllPosters.com. Each painting features a cup of coffee, a banner identifying the coffee’s country or region of origin, and two words describing the coffee. The set includes coffees from Colombia (deep, earthy), Costa Rica (roasted, balanced), Kenya (aromatic, smooth), and Sumatra (rich, complex).
Emily Farish, based in Oakland, California, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Auburn University, where she majored in drawing and painting. For over twenty years she worked primarily as a decorative painter. Her work included paintings and murals for schools, businesses, and residential clients in the Bay Area.
She now concentrates on fine art. Her botanicals in acrylics and charcoal are notable for their unique style. Rather than painting flowers in vases, Farish tapes them to the wall of her studio and includes the tape and the imperfections of the studio wall in the painting. The realistic, detailed paintings have been described as “Zen-like.”
If one of these four coffees is your favorite, one of these small prints by Emily Farish will be a beautiful accent for your home or office. Or, if you like them all, the four prints work together exceptionally well to provide a display of coffees from around the world.
